Rick Flynn

I am a documentary director and producer based in New York City and Berlin, Germany.

My latest film, the feature documentary Golf Alpha Yankee, is currently approaching the end of post-production.

I’ve directed and edited documentaries with national theatrical distribution including Allegiance: Beyond Broadway (feat. George Takei) and Behind Bandstand (feat. Andy Blankenbuehler). My provocative short documentary, How Come? was featured at festivals throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, including Luststreifen (Switzerland), PFFB (Berlin), La Fête du Slip (Switzerland), TLV Fest (Israel), and Innuendo (Italy). I recently produced Lynn Nottage: A Tribute, celebrating the William Inge Festival’s  2022 honoree, award-winning playwright Lynn Nottage.

My background in music (New York University) and visual anthropology (Germany’s Freie Universität), propelled my creative expression into the world of documentary, with a passion for finding vulnerability amid the taboo.

As a co-founder of Rich Media Play, I’ve also directed commercial video content for major organizations and brands including the Biden Foundation, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Tom’s of Maine, Jefferies Financial Group, and American Express.
